Paul P. Sabo, 90 years of age, passed away Saturday February 2, 2013 at his residence. Born in Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania on April 23, 1922, he was the son of the late John and Anne (Mihalec) Sabo. Formerly of Garfield Hts., Ohio, he had lived in the Hiram area the past 14 years.
Paul was employed at Osborne Manufacturing Company in Cleveland as a supervisor, retiring in 1984 after 42 years of service. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Mantua. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and will always be remembered by his family as "Being Boss".
On January 29, 1945, he married Helen P. (Palko) Sabo who preceded him in death on December 4, 1988. Also preceding was his sister Mary, and brothers Theodore, George, Thomas and John Sabo. Survivors include his sons Paul J. (Rose) Sabo of Nevada, Michael J. (Barbara) Sabo of Cleveland, Thomas E. Sabo of Hiram, his daughter Suzanne (David Sheha) Sabo of Seven Hills, brother Donald Sabo of Aurora, and 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where prayers will be said Wednesday at 9:15 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday February 6, 2013 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Michael Garvey officiating. Final resting place will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield, where he will receive military tribute by U.S.Navy Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193.
