Frank J. Harmon, 55 years of age, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Ravenna on April 10, 1957, he was the son of Frank R. and Grace (Battaglia) Harmon.
He was a lifetime resident of Garrettsville, and had been employed as a production operator for 28 years at White Rubber Company in Ravenna. Frank was a longtime member of Garrettsville Masonic Lodge No. 246 F.&A.M. He enjoyed the outdoors where fishing and hunting were some of his favorite pastimes, as well as playing cards, especially Euchre where winning was something he took seriously. Shooting pool and woodworking were also times of relaxation for him. Frank will also be remembered by his family and friends for helping others, always being there with an open hand and heart.
On September 17, 1983, he married Patricia L. (Appleton) Harmon who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children, Mitchell Harmon of Hudson and Patrick Harmon of Garrettsville, his mother, Grace Harmon of Freedom, brothers, Roy Harmon of Freedom and Jake Harmon of Shalersville, sister, Grace Smith of Nelson Township, and his 4-legged purring child "Bynx" at home. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank R. Harmon in 2006.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home and Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral service will be Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Final resting place will follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in his name to a charity of the donors choice.
