Worthy Mounts entered into eternal rest peacefully at her home in Ravenna on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. She was born on January 12, 1929 in Blackey, Virginia to the late Simon and Eva Blankenship.
She was a faithful member of God's Church of Ravenna, and a gospel singer and loved to sing to anyone that would listen. Worthy worked at Jane Francis Nursing Home for 23 years. She was supervisor at Alpha Enterprise in the 1970's, also a house maid for the late Emma Artz of Ravenna. She met no stranger, she would do anything she could for anyone, and was loved by so many. She loved traveling and going out to eat.
Worthy leaves behind, her sons, James (Linda) Mounts of Cedar Bluff, VA, Jason (Janet) Mounts of Ravenna, Rev. Earnest (Brenda) Mounts of Ravenna, Richard (Sandy) Mounts of Atwater, and Danny (Norma) Mounts of Ravenna; daughters, Rev. Vicie (Harry) Mostella of Ravenna and Janice (Larry) Brown of Ravenna; 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; sister, Laura Mullins of Grundy, VA; and a host of Church family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Worthy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mounts who died in 1997; and three daughters, Sarah, Linda Faye, and Mary Kay.
The family would like to thank Dr. Yanelli and everybody that did anything to help mom while she was in Robinson Memorial Hospital, ICU and Regency at Robinson. Also Maplewood Care Center in Streetsboro and Robinson Visiting Nurses and Hospice, you all did a wonderful job.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3PM until the 6PM funeral service held at Shorts-Spicer-Crislip Funeral Home, Ravenna Chapel. Rev. Roger Walden will officiate. Interment will take place on Monday at 1PM at Maple Grove Cemetery.
