Winifred E. Dombroski
Winifred E. Dombroski, 92, of Ravenna passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Longmeadow Care Center. She was born December 19, 1920 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late August and Nancy (Brown) Tewes.
During the war she was a driver at the Ravenna Arsenal where she met her husband Walter. She worked for Oak Rubber till she retired in 1992. Winifred enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and lap robes, reading and planting flowers. Her family was very important to her, especially watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Her church and church family held a very special place in her heart.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Pamela (Robert) Fleishman of Ravenna, grandchildren, Steve (Gina) Kovach of Bolton, MA, Jennifer (John) Murray of Dublin, OH, Scott (Mary Jo) Fleishman of Canton, OH, great-grandchildren, Jared, Kelsey, Elizabeth Kovach, Andrew, Lauren Murray, Alexis, Ashley, Zachary Fleishman, and her sister, Bernice McColloch of Ravenna.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Dombroski, daughter, Loraine Kovach, sister Virginia Wancik and a brother, Don Tewes.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM till time of the Funeral Service which will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Ravenna First United Methodist Church, 263 S. Prospect St. Ravenna, Ohio, with Rev. Stephen Sparling officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. A special Thank you to the wonderful nurses, aids, and therapy staff at Longmeadow Care Center for their show of love and compassion. Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ravenna First United Methodist Church or to Christian Cupboard.
