Priscilla Kay Lane was born in Swickley, PA on Dec. 5, 1944 and
died April 8, 2013 in Streetsboro, Ohio
Priscilla attended grade school in Chatham, N. J., Kent State High School class of 1962; Kent State U, class of 1966 for English and received her Masters Degree in English also at Kent State.
After college, Priscilla worked as an assistant to a V.P. Of purchasing at an import-export company in NY, NY for 4 years. Later she taught English as a foreign language in Aix En Marseille, France and Paris France for 14 years. She came back to the USA and settled in Bolder, CO in the travel business for about 12 years.
She was then diagnosed with MS.
Priscilla returned to her parent's home (Dotty Lane - " A Dot & A Dash" columnist for RC newspaper, Kent, OH and Jim Lane, financial officer Ohio Edison Co., Akron).
A few years later, she was admitted into Altercare, Ravenna and later transferred to Maplewood Care Center, Streetsboro, OH and remained there until her death.
She leaves her brother, Marsh Lane, Ravenna, OH, her sister, Nikki Lane Garrett and her husband, Charley Garrett of Menifee, CA; her sister, Suzanne Lane Binz, Springfield, OH; 5 nephews and nieces; 2 nephews-in-law; 1 niece-in-law, 4 great nephews and 1 great niece.
She also leaves her special friends, Susan Wakely Dowling, Medford, NJ, Martha Raymond Sommers, Twin Lakes, OH, Susan & Steven Hall, Stow, OH and Sally Haas, Denver, Colorado.
Priscilla loved to travel and traveled to European, Asian and South American countries by the score and Canada.
She loved visiting her relatives and took particular joy in visiting her many nieces and nephews.
She loved the arts and good books and teaching most of all. She always touted Kent, Ohio, Chatham, NJ and particularly Kent State University.
Her father nicknamed her "Blister" because she always showed up when the work was done.
Burial will be in Washington Cemetery, 498 Park Ave., Washington, PA the week of July 15, 2013 with a graveside service. Call Nikki at 310-498-7174 for info. Priscilla wished any donations made to the Ravenna, OH Rotary Club or Robinson Memorial Hospital Hospice, Ravenna, OH.
