Nadine Grace Cristino

Nadine Grace Cristino, a lifelong Ravenna resident passed away on Thursday September 11, 2013, three days after her 86th birthday, with her daughter, grandson and granddaughter by her side. Born to John and Anna Cipriano on September 8, 1927, she was their voice in their silent world.

Nadine's proudest job was that of a doting wife, mother and homemaker. She was later employed and retired from Kent State University. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, golfing and visiting her family on Hilton Head Island. A member of Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna, she had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and her loving God. She generously gave countless volunteer hours to the Hattie Larlham Foundation and the County Clothing Center. She was a dear friend to many and always willing to help anyone in need.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Frank. He was her everything. She is survived by her son Matt (Beth) of Munroe Falls. Her daughter Diane Mazzochi of Hilton Head, along with her children, Tony and Tia were loving and tender caregivers to this remarkable soul. Nadine was also blessed with grandsons Joshua Cristino, (Amy) Justin Cristino (Jennifer) and great grandsons Mason and Blaine Cristino, and Anthony Mazzochi. She is also survived by her brother John (Cleon) Cipriano of Hilton Head Island, SC., and her dear cousin Theresa Navickas of Kansas. There are also many surviving in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. An easy woman to love, she touched so many peoples lives and will be missed dearly.

Calling hours are private. There will be a funeral mass celebrating Nadine's life on Monday September 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Ravenna. Everyone meet at the Church. Nadine was grateful for her "dream team" from Summa/Robinson Memorial Hospice, especially Tia R., Shelley, and Lori.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Nadine's memory to hospice or a charity of your choice. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.

  • Dear Family, I met your beloved mother through the Dominic Cipriano family.  We lived in the house behind Dominic's and became such good friends with Mary, John and Doris through Dominic and Viola. Your mom was so kind and caring to all of them and visited them often.  I  remember going to your house and meeting your dad Frank with Viola.  Nadine took such loving care of him, also.  A truly beautiful person. May she rest in peace and may the memories all of you have created over the years bring you joy.  Cathy Russell

  • Aunt Nadine, We miss you and love you.  We are sad you are no longer with us but are happy you are with Uncle Frank now.  He will watch over you & keep you laughing.  The two of you play a round of golf in heaven daily where we hope there is the equivalent of Chestnut Hills, or Kent State's course, or Firestone.  We will always pray for you both and always tell our kids stories about you.  Diane & family we are sorry we could not be with you today but we are praying for you,  Love you always, Len & Theresa.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, she was an awesome sweet person, i met her when i was working at longmeadow, she was so sweet.  Again, I'm very forry
