Madonna "Donna" Rickard, 65 years of age, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Donna was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 24, 1947, the daughter of the late Barney and Noreen (Morgan) Cooper, Sr. A resident of Shalersville the past 37 years, Donna had been employed in customer service at both Evenflo and Alltel for several years. Donna enjoyed her flowers and watching Law & Order and all of the cities of NCIS, adding to her large doll collection, yet spending time with her children and grandchildren will always be the most cherished memories that she has enjoyed in her life.
On May 31, 1974, she married Travis L. Rickard who survives at their home. Also surviving are her children Bruce (Pam) Davis of Harpers Ferry, Brian (Melissa) Davis of Manassas, Virginia, Matthew (Janet) Davis of Rawlings, Maryland and Marcia (Ron) Fonseca of Englewood, Florida, Brothers Barney (Sandy) Cooper, Jr. of Florida, Herman (Shirley Cooper and Harry (Kathy) Cooper both of Streetsboro, Sisters Martha Coady of Pennsylvania, Jean (Eugene) Pfendler of Florida and Frances (Clarence) Phillips of Arkansas,7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and her 4-legged child Heidi. She was preceded in death by her siblings Walter Cooper and Sandra Rose and 1 grandson Joseph Davis. Calling hours will be Thursday September 19, 2013 from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where her funeral service will begin at 6:00 P.M. Immediately following family and friends are invited to return to the family residence 9192 Weaver Road in Shalersville for a time of fellowship and dinner. Cremation will follow and Donna will be laid to rest with a private family burial at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville Township, Ohio.
