Emery Gene Boyce, age 75 of Ravenna, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 9, 1938, in Jacox, West Virginia, to parents Tillman and Maude E. (Long) Boyce. Emery was a veteran of the US Army and worked as a welder most of his life. He enjoyed reading westerns, watching football, and especially playing slots at any casino.
He is survived by his wife Frances K. Boyce; son: Steven (Marie) Boyce of Rootstown; daughters: Jeannie (Jeff) Brunk of Garrettsville, Tina (Rob) Strosnider of Kent; grandchildren: Steven Boyce, Tawnya and Brad Smith, Jesse and J.T. Brunk, Daniel (Molly) Strosnider, Brittany (Adam) Tyjeski, Joshua, Debra, Hayleigh, and Kylie Strosnider, Dannielle and Brian Boyce; great-granddaughter Addison Strosnider, and special nephew Ed (Jennifer) Dillinger and their children.
Emery was preceded in death by his parents, son Mark E. Boyce, brothers Cecil, John, Virgil, and Acie, and sisters Dolly, Bessie, Bonnie, and Lelia.
Friends will be received Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 5:00 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Private graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
