Robert W. Troyer, Jr., 66 years of age, passed away Saturday September 14, 2013 at University Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on December 8, 1946, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Doris V. (Swann) Troyer, Sr.
Formerly of Hiram, Bob had graduated from Crestwood Schools in 1964, and was a resident of Garrettsville the past 30 years. As a young boy he worked on his grandfather's farm in Hiram Township. For over 20 years Bob had been employed as a Mold Designer and Draftsman at Nymold Corporation in Bedford. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam Era and received his honorable discharge from the Army. Bob enjoyed gardening and plants, was very versed concerning his stamp and coin collections, as well as being an avid reader and became a self taught man with a wealth of knowledge. Bob enjoyed camping with his young family, and later in life loved traveling to the Chesapeake Bay area and to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Bob had a special way with words, his own humor, and will be truly missed by his family and friends who came to appreciate his life with them.
Survivors include his daughters Sarah Troyer of Windham and Alescia (Michael) Harris of Arizona, his sister Gail E. Hovey of Hiram, brother Terry R. (Kim) Troyer of Spring, Texas, grandchildren Bradley, Shawna, Jacob, Alexis, Corinne and Chase, great-granddaughters Kaydence, Kamryn and Rose, and nephews Matthew and Christopher Hovey. He was preceded in death in 2000 by his father, in 2002 by his mother and in 2012 by his daughter Lydia Hawkins. At his request, cremation has taken place. Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday October 18, 2013 from 2:00 P.M.-4:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, following which Bob will be laid to rest at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
