A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Charlestown United Methodist Church for Janice Ann Barnard (Marvin, Ehasz) who passed away May 29 in Glendale, Arizona, at Hospice of the Valley after a courageous seven-year battle with breast cancer. Following the service, private familly burial will be held in the Charlestown Cemetary followed by a public reception in the Charlestown Town Hall.
Born January 11, 1950, in Ravenna, Ohio to Raymond Dewey Marvin (deceased) and Mary (Bonzanto) of Charlestown Township.
Previously residing in Kent and Streetsboro, she is survived by her husband, Terry L. Barnard, of Peoria, Arizona, son Matthew Christopher Barnard and wife Leslie Anne of Glendale, Arizona; step-daughters Shauna Raye of Longmont, Colorado, and Melissa Hovee of Twisp, Washington, and granddaughter Alana.
Other survivors include brothers Donald Ray Marvin and wife Kristine of Castle Rock, Colorado; John Paul Marvin and wife Sue of Scottsdale, Arizona; aunts Julie Pizzute and husband Pat of Brimfield, and Carol Bonzanto of Ravenna.
Jan was a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Emergency Room at Robinson Memorial Hospital for 30 years before retiring in 2000. She spent 13 years with the American Red Cross Blood Services in Arizona.
She was a 1968 graduate of Southeast High School and graduated from the Nursing Program in Akron, Ohio.
