Fred N. Fear, 74 years of age, passed away Thursday November 7, 2013 at his home. Born in Streetsboro, Ohio on April 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Fred C. and Helen L. (Forro) Fear. A lifetime Portage County resident, Fred lived in Streetsboro, following which he moved to Freedom Township to live on the farm with his parents, and attend Freedom School. A meat cutter for 45 years, he was employed at the A&P in Garrettsville for 22 years, then at Giant Eagle in Ravenna for 23 years, retiring in 2001. Following retirement, Fred worked at Windmill Lakes Golf Course for 6 years. Fred was active with the Portage County Randolph for 22 years, where he was a very supportive member of the Fair Board. Fred loved his hunting and fishing, as well as attending high school sporting events. On June 1, 1956, he married Marjorie (DeFluiter) Fear who survives at their home. Also surviving is his son Tim ( Marcia ) Fear of Ravenna, daughter Sherry ( Scott ) Garrett of Windham, brother Clarence " Butch " ( Carol ) Fear of Canada, sister Barbara ( Tony ) Ciulla of Colorado, grandsons Nicholas and Nathaniel Garrett and great-grandson Calan Garrett. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 1:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. at the former Mantua Center School, 11741 Mantua Center Road, Mantua, Ohio 44255 to share and celebrate his life. Cremation has been held, with his final resting place to be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to RMH Hospice, or James A. Garfield Athletic Booster Club, 8538 Center Street, Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the Doctors, Hospice & Visiting Nurse, RMH, for the compassionate care they gave Fred.
