Robert Hale Sweet Jr., 69, of Kent, died Thursday, December 5, 2013.
Bob was born to the late Robert H. Sweet Sr. and Mary L. (Meeker) Sweet, July 13, 1944, in Ravenna, Ohio. Bob graduated from Kent State University School in 1962. He enlisted in the US Navy in July of 1962 and was honorably discharged in July of 1968. Bob married Jean Bobrowicz in 1979, and lived together in Munroe Falls, Ohio, before relocating to Pompano Beach, Florida in 2009.
Bob was the Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Hudson Printing until he retired in 2009 and was passionate about the printing profession.
When Bob was not in the office working to build a successful company, he could be found on the golf course. He was a devoted family man and a dedicated fan of the University of Ohio State athletics and Cleveland sports.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Jean and their son Robert, daughter-in-law Julie, and grandson Theodore Sweet of Park Hills, Kentucky. Bob is also survived by his older Brother Ronald Sweet of Lakeland, Florida and older sister Suzann Nolte of Akron, Ohio. He is preceded in death by loving family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the ALS Foundations of Florida and Northern Kentucky, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and the Veterans Administration Hospital of Miami, Florida.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Roses Run Country Club in Stow, Ohio.
