Gladys P. Vickery, 89 years of age, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Elyria, Ohio. Born in Coalridge, Kentucky on August 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Carl and Cora (Summer) Spencer. A longtime Mantua area resident, Mrs. Vickery had been employed as a machine operator at MTD in Strongsville from where she retired. Quilting, flower gardening and the outdoors were things that she enjoyed doing.
Survivors include her children Larry (Debbie) Vickery and Rick (Cynthia) Vickery both of Kentucky, Ralph (Nancy) Vickery and Anna "Peach" (Dean) Katz-Warner both of Florida, Rocky (Beth) Vickery of Ravenna, Tina Byerly of Cleveland , Nickie (Gary) Gentry of Mantua, and Terry (Stephany) Vickery of Elyria, sister Bertha "Bud" (Junior) Watson of Cincinnati, 27 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her 4-legged children "Sassy" and "Puff-Puff". She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph and daughter Mona Vickery. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 19, 2013, 12:00 Noon at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, State Route 44 at the corner of 4668 Pioneer Trail, Mantua, where visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
