James Lee Holloway

James Lee Holloway, age 73, of Rootstown, passed away, Friday, January 10, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 3, 1940, the son of Willis and Alva (Futral) Holloway.

Mr. Holloway served proudly in the United States Army. He retired from Coca-Cola after 25 years of service. He was a beloved family man who enjoyed his family above all else. He loved to play cards, solving crossword puzzles, gardening, feeding the birds and going to Mountaineer Casino. Mr. Holloway was an accomplished wood worker who made furniture for his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Ann Holloway and his beloved dog, Butch, he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ramona (Dennis) Holloway, Daughter, Jane Holloway of Ravenna, Sister, Florence Flowers of Newton Falls, Brothers: Charles (Joni) of Ravenna, Larry of Charlotte, TN. and Dennis (Nora) of Dickson, TN. Other survivors include sister-in law, Ruth (Greg) Swaebly of Kent, Bothers-in-law: Ray (Lin) Dennis of Rootstown and Richard Dennis of Tallmadge. He was the favorite and cherished uncle to 16 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.

Calling hours will be held Monday, January 13, from 6 - 8 pm at the Wood-Kortright -Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14 at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Ravenna. The family suggests that contributions may be made in his name to the Animal Protective League or the American Cancer Society.

Ramona and Jane, I was so sorry to see that Jim had passed. He was a good person that always had a smile, he even seemed to have to smile when he was mad. I wouldn't of even know how to use my scroll saw if he wouldn't of came and help me put mine together. It's my loss that we didn't stay in touch. You guys were thought of often. Hope you guys take care. And again so sorry for your loss...
