Wilbert J. “Willy” Scott, 66, of Newton Falls passed away on Thursday December 12 at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
On March 10, 1947 in Ravenna Warren and Genevieve Patchin Scott welcomed the birth of son Wilbert.
Willy was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Ravenna High School. He honorably served our country in the US Army, serving in Vietnam earning a Bronze Star
Wilbert was employed by Davey Tree in Kent then General Electric in Ravenna as a machine adjuster. In his spare time he was a car enthusiast and shared many fond memories with his cousin Butch Tilton of Leavittsburg, but above all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Cherished memories of Willy will be carried on by his sons Cody and Chad Scott both of Newton Falls, brothers Dick Scott of Rootstown, Bill Scott of Ravenna and Tom (Heather) Scott of Kent, sisters Joyce (Paul) Hahn of Rootstown and Polly (John) Cain of Suffield, grandchildren Pryce, Madison and Sydney Scott and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Willy in death was his parents.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday Jan. 18 from 2-5 PM at the Paris Twp. Fire Dept./ Community Center on Newton Falls Road.
In lieu of flower the family would like contributions to be made in Willy name to Robinson Memorial Hospice, 6847 N. Chestnut St., Ravenna, Ohio 44266
