Kenneth L. Carson, 81 years of age, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Angel Care of Solon in Solon, Ohio. Kenneth was born in Ellsworth, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1932, the son of the late Alva and Maude (Steele) Carson. A resident of the Shalersville over 55 years, he had been employed as an electrician at Ford Motor Company, Walton Hills Division, retiring in 1995. Kenneth honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Hunting, fishing and gardening were special enjoyments that he had in his spare time. On June 16, 1955, he married Shirley L. (Denny) Carson who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Darrell (Robin) Carson of Sagamore Hills, Kenneth (Trudy) Carson, Jr. of Ravenna and Diane (Jim Clay) Carson of Streetsboro, sisters Hilda Crockett and Delores Crockett both of Florida and Wilma Dormo of Pennsylvania, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Carson. Calling hours will be Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua from 12:00 Noon until the time of his funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard Team. Cremation will follow. Family and friends are invited to join together for a time of fellowship immediately following the services at the Shalersville Town Hall.
