David Anton Vieland
David Anton Vieland, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully after battling cancer for many years on January 16th, 2014 at age 59. Born in 1954 in Ravenna, Ohio and raised in Mantua, Ohio, to Marion Vieland and the late William Vieland. He was a graduate of Crestwood High School in 1972. David was the grandson of the late Anton and Elizabeth Vieland.
He resided in Aurora, Ohio for over 25 years, where he raised his son, Daniel, while married to his previous wife, Marlene. He was founder and owner of Aurora Painting after many years of being employed as a truck driver for Air Products and various other companies.
In 2003, he moved to Anderson, Indiana and married Cindy Vieland. There, he helped to raise his two stepchildren, Nicholas Thomas and Ricque Moreno. He also continued his painting business and returned to the trucking industry.
David is survived by his mother, Marion Vieland; his wife, Cindy Vieland; son, Daniel (Tracy) Vieland; brother, Richard (Flora) Vieland; sister, Karen (Dan) Kuntzman; grandchildren, Chase and Carter Vieland; nieces and nephews, Carrie Vieland, Elizabeth Ursetti, Nathan Vieland, Steven Vieland, and Matthew Kuntzman; and stepchildren, Nicholas Thomas and Ricque Moreno.
Family will receive friends at the Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 E. Sigler, Frankton, Indiana 46044 on Monday, January 20th from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21st at 2 p.m.. He will be laid to rest at Frankton Knight's of Pythias I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton, Indiana. My sympathy to Dave's family and friends. I just learned of his passing and am so sorry for your loss. I graduated from Crestwood High School with Dave in 1972 and he was a good friend.
