Roscoe S. "Popeye" Carter, Jr., 74 years of age, passed away Saturday January 25, 2014 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna, Ohio. Born in Nicut, West Virginia on March 19, 1939, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Eula (Ater) Carter.
A resident of the Windham area the past 40 years, he had been employed at Impaction Company in Solon, Ohio as a welder until his retirement. "Popeye" was an avid 4-Wheeler with his Jeep, working on cars, enjoyed the outdoors, traveling the United States with his wife and visiting with his many friends.
On October 14, 1972, he married Jackie (McCauley) Carter who survives at their home. Also surviving are his children Robert (Debbie) Carter of Missouri, Ronald Carter of Windham and Malinda (James) Loftus of Chardon, Ohio, brothers Roger and Jerry Carter of West Virginia, Joey Carter of Tennessee, sisters Dottie Daughtery of Tennessee, Patty Carter and Linda Carter both of Ohio, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Carter.
Calling hours will be Thursday January 30, 2014 at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua from 4:00 p.m.-until the time of his funeral service at 5:30 p.m.

I want to let people know that he had 2 more daughters Judy Carter of Burton Ohio and Darlene Nelson of Streetsboro Ohio. He also had 3 grandchildren and another great grandchild.
