Victor George Rusinko, age 70, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. He was born in Ravenna, Ohio on August 14, 1943, to parents John and Helen (Wanchick) Rusinko.
Vic graduated from Immaculate Conception School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and Knights of Columbus #1417. He was an early member of the Ravenna Boy's Club and as an adult returned to show movies to the members.
After graduating from Ravenna High School, Victor served as a radio operator in the US Army while stationed in Germany and traveling to different countries. He retired as a printer from the Record Courier after over 30 years of service. In his later years, Vic lost his short term memory, but could always recall rock and roll artists, TV shows, movies, and anything pertaining to the 1950's.
He is survived by his brothers Ben of Ravenna and Ted of Las Vegas, NV; sisters: JoAnn (Paul) Gasper and Marian Miley both of Ravenna; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Vic was preceded in death by his parents, sister Doris Gerren, brother Alex, infant brother Paul David, and his brothers-in-law Jim Gerren and Bill Miley.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 30, 2014, from 4:00 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak at 10:00 AM on Friday at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Victor and his family and friends would meet every Tuesday morning at East Main Subway for many years. His family greatly appreciates the loving care from all the staff at Subway and the staff and drivers of PARTA.

I am sorry to hear about Victor.As a class mate at Immaculate Conception, Ravenna, High and work associate at th Record -Courier I offer my sympathy to his family.
