Mr. Robert E. Dillon, 81 of Ocala, Fl. Passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Legacy Hospice House after a short battle with cancer. Bob was born in Bethel, Ohio on January 1, 1933 to parents, Harry L. and Pearl T. (Camden) Dillon. Bob retired after over 30 years as Owner/Operator of Bob's Marathon in Brimfield. After retirement Bob moved to Ocala, Fl. With his wife Judith Dillon. Bob was an honest, well liked hard working man. He enjoyed working in his workshop making clocks and furniture. Loved traveling with his wife. Bob was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indian's. He would often travel from Ocala to Winter Haven to watch Indian spring training games with his wife Judith and his brother Richard. He was proceeded in death by his parents as well as his first wife of 24 years Ruth (Bower) Dillon.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years Judith Dillon; Children Mark (Tina) Dillon of Kent, Dennis (Teresa) Dillon of Diamond, Kimberly (Darrel) Smith of Sarasota, FL , Wendy (Jeff) Hamilton of Randolph Sister's Wilma Crum, Betty Morris and brother Richard Dillon. Seven Grandchildren, Michael (Megan), Derek, Todd Dillon, Dana (Nate) Haigh, Ericka Hendershot Dillon, Chelsie and Scott (Jessie) Hamilton. Three Great Grandchildren, Morgan and Madden Dillon and Carter Haigh
A celebration of life has taken place at a private service held at Robert's Funeral Home in Ocala, FL on Monday, January 27, 2014. Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens in Ocala, FL
I am so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. I have lost touch with so many of the Dillon relatives. Especially since my dad passed away in 2008. My condolences to Judy, Wendy, Kim, Mark and Denny.
