Allan D. Krysiak, of Rootstown, passed away February 1, 2014. He was born September 20, 1947 to the late Edward and Helen Krysiak in Cleveland and was raised in Parma Heights. He graduated from Kent State University, served honorably in the U.S. Army, and earned a second degree from the University of Akron.
After his military service, Allan returned to this area where he was employed by Alside, Inc. and Davey Tree Co. He held multiple positions within the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 2011.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years Pamella (Pennell), sons Andrew (Rachael) of Reno, NV, Scott of Pittsburgh, PA, and Douglas of Rootstown. Also survived by grandsons Wesley Allan and Alexander Glenn of Reno, NV, brother James (Susan) of The Villages, FL, and sister Anita Dagnan (Bob Wojarnowski) of North Royalton.
Allan's strength of character and work ethic were an inspiration to his sons. He was a quiet and gentle man who enjoyed the Indians, Browns, Scouting and traveling. He leaves his two best kitty friends Ozzy and Cleo.
Friends will be received Monday, February 3, 2014, from 4-7 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, as well as Tuesday from 8:30 -- 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak at 10:00 AM on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.

Always the gentleman, Allan was someone who could always be counted upon. He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring son and brother, dependable employee, good neighbor, a loyal friend, a faithful Christian man. He leaves a wonderful legacy of love as evidenced by his family. I feel privileged to have known him!
