John "Jacky" Edward Lewis, age 65 of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at his home.
He was born August 20, 1948, in Ravenna, Ohio. John was a hardworking family man. He was a truck driver, construction worker, and factory worker. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. After his two tours of duty, John would humbly tell anyone, I've been around the world twice. Later, he became a lifetime member of VFW Post 1055 in Ravenna. John enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was the type of man who could build or fix anything. He was also a kind man, willing to give you the shirt off his back.
He is survived by his beloved wife Linda Lewis; children: Charles (Mindy) Gibson of Warren, Suzanne Lewis of Ravenna, and Brian Lewis of Ravenna; grandchildren: Scott Lewis, Donald Paulat, Dillon Lewis, Aaron Belknap, and Brianna Belknap; and great-granddaughter: Makenna. John is also survived by his brothers: Charles, David, Jimmy, and Randy, as well as his sisters: Deb, Peg, and Kathy.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Mary Lewis, Jack Wyers, and brothers Carl Wyers and Robert Dillon.
Friends will be received Sunday, February 16, 2014, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where the funeral service will be officiated by Reverend Timothy Kellogg at 9:30 AM on Monday. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with full military honors.
