Glenda Jean (Prisby) Bronner "Goose"

Glenda Jean (Prisby) Bronner "Goose", age 63, passed away on February 17th at Akron General Hospice.

She was born to the late Eugene Glenn Prisby and Eddie Mae (Brown) Prisby on October 2nd 1950 in Ravenna, Ohio. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1968 and attended Kent State University on a "full ride" English scholarship enrolled at the time of the Kent State Riot. Glenda also attended the University of Akron. She married the love of her life, Charles L. Bronner Jr. on December 6th 1975 and was married for almost 40 years. It was very cold, cold on their wedding day and Glenda used to joke about how the minister married them wearing his galoshes.

Glenda was a cherished member of the community and could be found frequently sharing her passion for music at different churches, schools and venues. She excelled playing the harmonica and chromaharp. She volunteered extensively for the Salvation Army during Christmas. Glenda loved going camping and fishing with Charles and her children. And was a gifted teacher to anyone willing to learn.

"Goose" was known for her corny jokes and bringing joy and laughter to others. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, making her wedding dress and all of the bridesmaids gowns. She was so brilliant that she could always answer every Jeopardy question. Glenda held a third degree black belt in Tai Kwan do and did competitions. She gave free lessons to anyone who was interested. She was also active in politics. Glenda was an artist, she was a composer, writer and poet.

Glenda's love of God and her faith in Christ was the bedrock of her life. She was a firm believer and never waivered. She stood on His Word.

Glenda is survived by her loving husband, Charles and three children, Richard (Andrea) Bronner, Rodney Bronner and Regina Bronner, stepdaughter Carla M. Bronner. Two grandchildren Charles Bronner Ill and Latazhane' Tatum Roberts, Mother Eddie Mae (Brown) Prisby, Sisters Mary Prisby MacMurray, Alice Prisby Washington, Victoria Prisby Papczun, Caroline Prisby and brother John Prisby, Brother in law Michael (Thelma) Bronner, Special friend Pam Stamps, and a host of nieces nephews great nieces, great nephews, relatives and friends.

Glenda is predeceased by her brother, Errol Prisby in 2006.

Funeral service Saturday, March 1st 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary Parish 750 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio. Rev. Daniel Reed officiating.
