John E. Nussbaum

John E. Nussbaum, 92, of Dalton and formerly of Apple Creek, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Shady Lawn Health Care Community in Dalton.

He was born near Kidron on July 6, 1921 to the late Daniel and Edna (Amstutz) Nussbaum and married Grace Miller on July 14, 1946. She died December 28, 2001.

John had lived most of his life in the Streetsboro area until moving to Apple Creek in 1986. He was a member of the Kidron Mennonite Church and was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by children, Jim (Amy) Nussbaum of Streetsboro, Ralph (Sharon) Nussbaum of Colorado Springs, CO, Galen (Karen) Nussbaum of Portland, OR, Gloria (Joe) Miller of Apple Creek and Collene (Rich) Lewman of Ft. Myers, FL; daughter-in-laws, Jackie Nussbaum of Streetsboro and Susie Nussbaum of Akron; grandchildren, Kris, Kirk, Charmayne, Ryan, Randy, Erica, Stacey, Charity, Nicole, Tiffini, Adam, Ashley, Dawn, Daniel, Linda and Benjamin; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Ella horst of Kidron and Lydia Geiser of Upper Sandusky.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by children, Raymond, Marlene, Lamar and Robert; a grandson, Paul; brothers, Wilson, Lester, Lee and Aaron; and sisters, Pauline Miller and Anna Marie Hofstetter; and a stillborn brother.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Kidron Mennonite Church with Pastor Carl Wiebe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 Pm at the Kidron Mennonite Church. Spidell Funeral Home in Mount Eaton is handling the arrangements.
