Colba G. Westfall, 91 of Atwater, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Robinson Memorial Hospital. He was born April 28, 1922 in Ready, WV to the late Worthey and Phoeba Elizabeth (Damewood) Westfall. Colba served with the US Army during W.W.II with the Cannon Company 314th Infantry Regiment 79th Division as a Staff Sgt,. He was in Normandy invasion, Rhineland Central Europe battles. He received the good conduct medal, Distinguished unit badge, American service medal with 4 Bronze Stars, and the Victory Medal. He lived in Atwater most his life where he worked at Lamb Electric for 42 years, and was a member of the Lake Milton Fish and Game Club. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Maxine (Hubbard) Westfall, sons, Gerald (Jane) Westfall of Atwater, Wayne (Joyce) Westfall of Alliance, Rickey (Rita) Westfall of Atwater, Larry Westfall of Deerfield, sister, Eleanor Barger of Columbus, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Besides his parents he was preceded by 1 sister and 5 brothers. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held later in the spring in the Atwater Cemetery.
