James W. RONYAK, Age 77 of Burton, passed away on March 25, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic. Born Jan. 9, 1937 at Corey Hospital in Chardon to AJ and Effie (nee: Craft) Ronyak, he had been a lifelong area resident. He spent his early years in Troy, OH learning to hunt and fish with his twin brother Bill. He graduated from Burton High School before attending Case University and The Ohio State University. His father founded the AJ Ronyak Asphalt Paving, in Burton, in 1939. James, his twin brother William, and older brother, Dennis, continued the business until his retirement in 1995. Jim was a member of Burton Congregational Church, Village Lodge F&AM #274 and the Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland. He enjoyed flying and golf but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was passionate about his work, his employees and running the business.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Sharon (nee: Rowland) of Burton; daughter Sherry (Keith) Monroe of Burton; sons David (Jennifer) of Munson Twp., Scott (Jill) of Burton and Craig of Burton; 12 grandchildren Jason, Jessica, Jerrod, Ashley, Tommy, Alyssa, Evan, Ian, Mia, Katie, Ashley and Johnny; many extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dennis and William and nephew Jay B. Ronyak. A casual gathering with friends and family will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Church beside the Welshfield Inn 13975 Main Market Road (Rt. 422), Burton, OH 44021.
