Lonnie L. Robinson

Lonnie L. Robinson 87 of Edgewater, Florida, a former Portage County resident, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Lake Mary, Florida. He was born June 19, 1926 in Esco, KY to Harvey and Bessie (Hampton) Robinson.

Mr. Robinson was a US Army veteran of WWII, retired in 1990 from Carlon in Aurora, was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Ravenna Moose #1234. He always had a "to do" list and said he had to do one job everyday.

Survivors include his wife Barbara (Hopkins) Robinson of Ravenna, daughters Barbara A. Gill of Ft. Wayne, IN, Brenda L. Tawney of Franklin Twp., Judy (Sam) Paulus of Wooster, Sharon G. (Bobby) O'Shields of Kent, Janet (Allen) Black of Kent and Tonny Robinson-Esola of Deltona, Fl, 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a sister Naomi Shean of Ravenna. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Jeanette Damron and Abby Rhinehart and brothers Ralph and Lacey Robinson.

Calling hours will be from 5 - 8 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the funeral home with Reverend Denny Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Harrington Cemetery in Nelson Township.

  • Barb, Barbara, Judy, Jan, Brenda, Tonny, Gay, grandchilren and gr. grchildren I am so sorry for your loss. No one in the family speaks to me so I didnt know in time for the calling hours. You all are in my prayers and I loved Uncle Lonnie. He was always very nice to me. He will be greatly missed.  I am very sorry I couldnt have seen him one last time. I love you all . God Bless !
