Rod K. "Bud" Westbrook, 84, of Ravenna was called home to be with the Lord on December 15, 2013.
He was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to Rodney and Mary Alice Westbrook (both deceased) and had one brother, Lindsay, also deceased.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years, Mary Ann (Babinec) Westbrook, daughters Linda Holland (David), Fay Greenway (Terry) and son Robert (Denise) and stepsons Christopher, Michael (Elena) and Brett Psenicka, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rod was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served on a destroyer in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he was employed by Pioneer Resources in Ravenna. Rod and his wife then started MAW'S Sauce company in 1989 and stayed active in sales until retiring in 2009.
Rod was an avid photographer and enjoyed his favorite hobby, refurbishing silent movie projectors and traveling with his wife to almost every one of the 50 states. He was also an avid sports fan spending summers rooting for the Phillies and winters for the Eagles and Penn State.
Rod was a prayerful man and had taken Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, worshipping at the Ravenna Assembly of God and serving as an inspiration to his children.
He was a very loving, kind and considerate man and will be sadly missed by his family and many whose lives he touched.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 4, at 11 a.m. at Ravenna Assembly of God, 6401 State Rt. 14, Ravenna, Ohio. Following the service, he will be interred with full military honors at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
