Beverly A. Lee, 73, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Beverly was born June 2, 1940, in Ravenna, OH to the late Anthony and Anna (Knapp) Perkowski.
She was a graduate of Kent State University and continued her internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she met her husband, Harland. She had then gone on to complete her master's degree. Beverly and Harland were united in marriage on December 28, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2011. When Beverly first moved to Sheboygan she was a dietician at St. Nicholas Hospital. She then continued with her education, to work as an educator for the Sheboygan Area School District. Beverly was a member of First United Lutheran Church where she served on various committees within the Church. Beverly was also actively involved in American Association of University Women (AAUW), The Sheboygan County Quilters Guild, Friends of Mead, Needlesmiths, and Sports Core. She also enjoyed many interests such as traveling with family and friends, quilting, reading, Mahjong, and playing Bridge with her church group.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kristin (Jeff) Lee-Ziehler and Katherin (Gavin) Gerhartz; four grandchildren, Nathan and Nicholas Gerhartz and Winter and Anneliese Ziehler; three brothers, Mack (Gail) Perkowski, Richard Perkowski and James Perkowski; two sisters, Regina (Pete) Vitucci and Valerie (Karl) Picelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at First United Lutheran Church (2401 Kohler Memorial Drive, Sheboygan) at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Friends may call on visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated for The Boys and Girls Club of First United Lutheran Church, Nontraditional Scholarship - AAUW, Sharon S. Richardson Hospice or Safe Harbor.
The family would like to especially thank Dr. Santhosh Kumar, Debbie Gray and the staff at Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Dr. Bryan Schmitt and the staff at Beach Health Care. They would also like to thank all of the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice that cared for Beverly and made her last days comfortable. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of her friends who graciously offered their time, support and most importantly their unconditional friendship during her illness.
