H. JoAnn “Josie“ Eisele, 87 years of age, passed away Friday April 25, 2014. Born in Tallmadge, Ohio on October 7, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Helen (Miller) Harris.
Mrs. Eisele grew up in Scio, Ohio, and was a 1945 graduate of Scio High School. A homemaker, she had been a resident of the Shalersville area over the past 50 years. For over 30 years, she had been employed by the Terhune Family as a housekeeper. An active member for over 40 years of Crossroads Community Church, she had been a Volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital and served as a Poll Worker for the Portage County Board of Elections. Josie truly enjoyed being outdoors, as gardening, walking in the woods, the many bonfires she will be remembered for, visiting her neighbors and feeding the squirrels were times that she cherished.
Survivors include her children Mark Eisele of Ravenna, Sam (Trish) Eisele of Shalersville and Marilyn (Brian) Sessions of Twin Lakes, her brother Bruce (Aneta) Harris of West Salem, Ohio, 5 grandchildren Conor, Nick, Tara, Lisa and Sheryl, 6 great-grandchildren and other loving family members. Preceding her in death were her brothers George Harris and Fred Britton.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 9018 St. Rt. 44, Ravenna, Ohio 44266, where her funeral services will be held Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Keith McKnight officiating. Immediately following, there will be a luncheon and time of fellowship for family and friends at the Shalersville Town Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Mantua-Shalersville Fire Department.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice and Home Instead Health Care for the loving, gracious and professional care they gave to mom, and to special friends Chuck and Lois Eisele for all of their assistance. Arrangements are by the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua.
