William H. "Billy" Fordyce, Jr.

William H. "Billy" Fordyce, Jr., 58 years of age, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014 in Cleveland, Ohio. Born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania on July 15, 1955, he was the son of William H. and Edna (Welling) Fordyce, Sr. A longtime area resident, he was a 1974 graduate of Crestwood High School. Billy was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam Era, where he was an in-flight refueling technician. For many years he had been employed with SPS Technologies in Cleveland, and most recently employed with Jacobson Manufacturing in Medina. Billy was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed shooting pool, and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son Michael Fordyce of Streetsboro, parents William and Sandi Fordyce, Sr. of Shalersville, Edna Welling of New York and other step-mother June Kelly of Streetsboro, and sisters Crystal Skvarek of Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, Marguerite (Charles) Jack of West Newton, Pennsylvania, Wilma (Thomas) Kile of Homer, New York, Tina (David) Ballentine of Shalersville and Daphne (Thomas) Finegan of Stow. Also survivng are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Fordyce in 2008 and his brother Herman in 2010. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service in Mantua, where his funeral services will be held Friday May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Capt. Demetrius Stanford of the Salvation Army officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard Team, assisted by members of Mantua American Legion Post No. 193. Hey Pops---I love and miss you so much. Your little comments that always put a smile on my face. Your stubborn butt that I never listened to or was bothered by!! LOL!! I know I might not of known you that long, but can honestly say it was my priviledge. Now you can can ride free, No more pain no more agony ! You can have all the cookies and brownies you want too. Only regret is that there was not enough time !!!
