James Edward Workman, age 67 of Ravenna, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
He was born September 30, 1946, in Logan, West Virginia, to parents Orville and Doris (Gollihue) Workman. Jim proudly served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of American Legion Post 331. He was a "Good Ol' Boy" whose favorite hangout was the former Morris' Busy Corner. Jim enjoyed sports, especially golf, baseball, and football, always rooting for Indians and Browns. Most of all, he loved his wife, and her family quickly became his family.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Workman, whom he married November 24, 1990. His memory will also be cherished by children: Jeff (Ida) Byrne of Tampa FL, Doug (Nancy Green) Byrne of Ravenna, Greg Byrne of Windham, Jay (Teresa) Byrne of Vienna, Deborah (Terry) Lopez of Ravenna, and Christina (Donald) Cribley of Warren; as well as 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and sister Joyce Hodavan.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters: Marcella Davis, Diane Workman, and Loretta Kuhns.
Cremation has taken place and graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 2, 2014, at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
