Jane Linda Teter, Age 57, of Streetsboro, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Jane was the beloved daughter of the late Julia Teter and Raymond Teter. She is survived by her Aunt, Helen Huss, and 19 Cousins, as well as her long-time feline companions Tootsie and Louie, that she loved so much.
Jane was a Political Science graduate of Kent State University and worked on a number of political campaigns. In the summer of 1980 Jane coordinated the national and local press for one week during the Ohio Presidential primary campaign in Cleveland of then President Jimmy Carter. She was instrumental in helping arrange a schedule for the White House staff and guiding more than 100 members of the press. Those press members included Sam Donaldson of ABC News and the White House Press Secretary Jody Powell. Jane spent 13 weeks in Washington, D.C. as part of a Kent State University study program. Jane was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Streetsboro, OH and was very involved in the Streetsboro Community Pantry. Jane loved spending time with her family and church friends, volunteering at church, attending Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Steeler games, and she was among Bruce Springsteen's biggest fans, having attended over 15 of his concert performances. If you ever played a game with Jane you know she was very competitive and wanted to WIN. She didn't play sports but she knew her sports. If you had a question on stats of players etc. she could answer the question. Jane worked for O'Neil's, Joanne's, Atomic Box, Jane was Godmother to David Defer.
Jane will be forever missed by Chuck, Deb, Mary and David Defer.
A Memorial Service will be held for Jane on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the United Methodist Church, P.O. 8940 State Route 43, Streetsboro, OH 44241. Donations in Jane's memory may be made to the Streetsboro Community Pantry P.O. Box 2005, 8940 St. Rt. 43, Streetsboro, OH 44241, or a charity of your choice.
