Alan Edward Gasper, 47, of Green, Ohio, passed away June 27, 2014 after nearly four years of battling Melanoma.
He was born November 30, 1966 to Paul and JoAnn (Rusinko) Gasper of Ravenna. Besides his parents, Alan is survived by his sister, Sharon Gasper of South Pasadena, California and his beloved nephew, Lucas Payton Bland of South Pasadena.
Alan attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Rootstown High in 1985 where he was active in all sports. He loved baseball and continued playing until his illness prevented him from being able to do so. Alan attended Bowling Green State University and graduated from Kent State with a BBA in finance and also held a series seven securities license and worked as a licensed real estate broker. He had been the President of the Canton Jay Cees and a Special Olympics coach.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 1st from 5:00PM until 8:00PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 2nd with Reverend William Kraynak officiating.

My heart is deeply saddened by the loss of Alan. Although I moved away from Northeastern Ohio at young age Alan and I kept in touch occasionally via email and Facebook. I will always remember his infectious smile, beautiful loving and kind heart. Alan Gasper you were loved and adored by all and you will be missed! RIP my friend.
