Richard Allen "Dick" Eddy, a long time resident of Portage County & graduate of Rootstown High School passed away June 22nd, 2014 at his home in Dilliner, PA. He was born April 18, 1946 in Osage, WV. Proceeding him in death were his parents Harlan and Phyllis Eddy. Mr. Eddy was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the American Legion Post 992 of Mt. Morris PA. Mr. Eddy was a life long construction worker, he owned and operated Dick Eddy Builders. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Connie Stoneking Eddy, 3 daughters, Shari (Richard) Duvall, Shannon (George) Presock & Rebecca (Troy) Eddy-Jenkins. Dick had 10 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters, a sister Brenda (Petty) Riley of Kent, 2 brothers, Jeff Eddy of Stow and Tom Eddy of Seminole FL. and was also loved and respected by many nieces, nephews and friends.
At Dick's request, there will be no public visitation or services and his burial was private. His family will greet friends and relatives "Dick Eddy Style" at the home of his niece Kim (Larry) Hankins @ 6584 Crescent Ln. Kent, OH. 44240 from 3:00-5:30 on Saturday, July 5 2014.
