Karen Abraham Wanders

Karen Abraham Wanders, age 61, of Aurora, Ohio peacefully passed away on October 17th surrounded by her family.

Born in Amherst, Ohio on January 23rd, 1955, Karen was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Abraham and sister to Bruce (Cheryl) Abraham of Garrettsville. While attending the University of Notre Dame, Karen met the love her life, Richard. After living in Hingham Massachusetts, Karen and Rich moved to Hudson Ohio where they raised their two sons, Jonathan (Emily) and Daniel (Elizabeth). Karen was a loving sister-in-law to Stephen Wanders (Lori) and Mary-Lou Hutt (George), and aunt to James Seaborn (Melissa), Thomas Abraham, Jennifer Sheppard and Natalie Wanders.°

A dear friend to many, graphic designer, and member of the core staff in the St. Mary Parish Life Teen Program, Karen was very involved in the Hudson community.° She was a fantastic cook and loved to have a house full of people. A sports enthusiast, Karen played tennis, kayaked, and loved a good round of golf with her family and friends.° She and Rich shared wonderful travel adventures. Above all, Karen was an amazing Nana to her granddaughters.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Aurora, Ohio on Thursday, October 20th from 4pm-8pm. A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 21st at 10:30am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Aurora, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Life Teen Program at St. Mary Catholic Church - 340 North Main Street, Hudson Ohio 44236 or the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund c/o Sean Kassen, Director 215 Hordan Hall of Science Notre Dame, IN 46556.
