Dorothy Jane (Dottie) Sasala, 73, passed away at home on November 12, 2016, peacefully surrounded by her family and dear friend Jaqueline Steigerwald. She was the beloved wife of Dale Sasala; loving mother of Sherri (Seth Riewaldt) Sasala, Todd (Elaine) Sasala, and Molly Sasala; dear grandmother of Alexzander, Tyler, Gabrielle, Savannah, and Michael; and dear sister of Jackson Quayle, Michael (Mary) Quayle, and the late Martha (William) Glover. Dottie was born in Cleveland on December 3, 1942 to Jackson and Evelyn (Silvieus) Quayle. She lived in Cleveland Heights until 1959 when she moved with her family to Twinsburg. She graduated from R. B. Chamberlain High School in 1961 and one year later married her sweetheart, Dale. They soon began a family and relocated to Aurora in 1969. She was known for her many talents and pastimes, including gardening, cooking, knitting and writing thoughtful letters. Always one to share her passions with others, Dottie was involved with the Aurora Book Club, Garden Club, Study Club, and Knitting Circle. Believing that the stars and planets hold a special role in our lives, she was an active charter member of the Lake County Astrological Association.

Dottie became a realtor in the 1980s, making friends while helping people find homes in the community. She was involved in the lives of young people participating in Destination Imagination and 4H, preparing raffle baskets and the much anticipated end-of-season Turkey Feast at the Randolph County Fair. Above all, Dottie was known as a caring and supportive wife, mother, friend, and neighbor. If someone was in need, she was there with a kind word, an extra pair of hands, or a comforting meal. The family will be having services privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aurora Library Trust, 115 E. Pioneer Tr., Aurora, OH 44202. A celebration of life will be held on Dottie's birthday (December 3) from 2-6 p.m. at The Church of Aurora, 146 S. Chillicothe Rd., Aurora, OH.
