James Lee Michael, 69, of Ravenna, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at his home.
He was born August 7, 1947, in Ravenna,, to parents Charles Henry and Anna (Colwill) Michael. Jim worked as a machinist, most recently at Metaullics in Aurora. James loved to golf, bowl, and coached softball. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. Jim was a member of the Ravenna Elks Lodge 1076, Italian American Society, VFW Post 1055, and Eagles 2164.
Jim is survived by his son Steven (Tanya) Michael, and grandchildren: Jacob Michael, Alex Michael, Brianna Wheeler, Katrana Felter, and Hunter Felter. He is also survived by siblings Helen Reagan, Wilbur (Jackie) Michael, and Doris (Jim) Hershberger, as well as his brother-in-law Bob Leiborth and sister-in-law Lori Michael.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruth Leiborth, his brothers Robert Michael, Charles Michael, and Henry Michael.
Friends will be received Sunday, December 4, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor David Ballert on Monday 11 am.. Interment will follow at West Cemetery in Palmyra with military honors provided by VFW Post 1055 and the US Army Honor Guard.
