HIRAM -- Eleanor M. Leachko, 95 years of age, passed away Monday March 6, 2017 at her residence.
Born on February 21, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Matej) Hudak. Formerly of Parma Hts., she had resided in Hiram since 1982. When her children were young, Mrs. Leachko enjoyed taking them to Copake, New York for summer vacations memories that they will cherish forever. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Garrettsville, and during her life she remained devoted to her faith.
On April 15, 1945, she married her beloved husband Joseph D. Leachko, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2016. Also preceding her were her devoted son Dale (Wife Mrita) Leachko, her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Steve Stanhope, dear brother John Hudak and sister Helen Robbins. She is survived by her devoted sons Joel (Sally) Leachko of Hiram and Paul (Debbie) Leachko of Chautauqua, New York and her loving grandchildren Jacqlyn, Kelsey, Joseph, Andrew and Ann Marie.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Green Family Funeral Home & Crematory Service, 4668 Pioneer Trail at the corner of St.Rt. 44, Mantua, Ohio 44255. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday March 9, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231 (Everyone Please Meet At The Church). Officiating will be Rev. Steve Zeigler. Final resting place will be at The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
