Beth "Mama" Alexander, 89 years of age, was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday June 7, 2017, where she joined her devoted husband of 67 years Thomas Alexander, whose passing took place in 1992. She was also greeted by her loving grandson Corey Harris.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 30, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Wortman) Laymon. Formerly of Cleveland, Beth was a graduate of LaGrange High School, and was a member and Past President of the Nottingham Civic Club. A resident of Garrettsville since 1971, she was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garrettsville. Mrs. Alexander had been employed as Administrative Assistant at Standard Oil in Cleveland, retiring in 1953. An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing bingo and crossword puzzles. Beth will always be remembered as "Mama" to all who knew her, and her door was open to anyone, sharing her love with family and friends. The world has lost a loving woman who has left wonderful memories for those who remain.
Beth is survived by her beloved children Guy T. Alexander, Alyson L. (Gary Fowler) Alexander and Marla B. (Michael ) Harris all of Garrettsville; her loving grandchildren Christopher and Kyle Harris, Amber Fuller and Eryn Alexander and great-grandchildren Tayler Fuller and Ariana Harris, and "Special Grandchildren " Michelle Vash, Zachary West and Michelle Nickita.
No calling hours. Cremation has been held. A Celebration of Her Life will be held July 30, 2017 at her home. A private burial will take place at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville with Rev.
