In a matter of minutes, a madman savagely shoots and slaughters 20 young and innocent children and a nation recoils in horror and mourns -- as it should.
In the United States, every 26 minutes, an innocent baby is aborted. This is accomplished as a surgeon either:
Inserts a hollow tube with a knife-edged tip into the womb and tears the fetus and placenta into small pieces which are sucked into a bottle and discarded;
Uses the teeth of a pair of forceps inserted into the womb to twist and tear the bones until the fetus is totally dismembered, snapping the spine and crushing the skull in order to remove them;
Injects saline solution into the baby's sac, which burns off its outer layer of skin and poisons the baby as it swallows the solution and dies in about an hour and is born dead or dying 24 hours later;
Uses special chemicals that cause the uterus to violently contract, expelling the developing fetus, which is often killed by the force of the contractions; or
Cuts the umbilical cord -- the baby's oxygen supply -- while it is still in the womb, causing it to suffocate.
The only reason surgeons no longer pull a baby into the birth canal, delivering all but the head, then opening its skull with scissors so a suction catheter can suck out the brain, collapsing the skull and ending the life, is because this method is banned.
Whether you spell it "f-e-t-u-s" or "c-h-i-l-d," every single day in our country the lives of more than 3,000 innocent babies come to a violent end -- not at the hand of a madman -- but because of the choice of would-be mothers, and a nation nods approvingly while women demand to maintain this "right."
But, oh, how God mourns.
