What irony. One night before the all-state "Don't Frack Ohio 2.0" rally to be held in Trumbull County, a rally whose purpose is to tell our legislators that we don't want any more injection wells in Ohio, eight more of these hazardous waste wells are just being permitted for Portage County. Portage, which already has 18 toxic waste disposal wells, receives more toxic, radioactive and hazardous waste from fracked wells than any of Ohio's 88 counties.
Portage, with its 18 injection wells, is already laughed at as "Portage Potty" because we are No. 1 in waste dumped here. Ordinary, hard-working everyday folks of this county apparently have no idea that millions and millions of gallons of the most poisonous chemicals on earth are coming here daily -- right under our feet -- even as people from all over the U.S.A. and every part of Ohio are driving here, to say, "No, Stop. No More Wells! Enough is enough!"
How many times will Portage citizens let themselves be slapped in the face by an oil and gas industry that seeks only profit -- and leaves us with the profitless waste? What a legacy for our kids: Poisoned aquifers full of water we can't drink, air we can't breathe, property values decimated, homes that no bank will write a mortgage for and no insurance company will insure. Is this really what people want?
If we don't protect ourselves, who will? Are we expecting the oil and gas industry to care? Or our elected officials who legalized this crime against our health, our children's lands and our quality of life?
Our county cannot bear the burden of eight additional wells saturated with mercury, arsenic, cadmium, benzene, toluene, xylene, napthalene, ethylbenzene and many other chemicals identified by the U.S. Department of Energy as hazardous and toxic. Stand up. Let your voice be heard.

Did this ditz make it past the 8th grade? What a moronic letter. Worse yet, why did the RC even print such a moronic letter.
Did I miss something in this opinion? What irony. One night before the all-state "Don't Frack Ohio 2.0" rally to be held in Trumbull County so what did happen one night before the great rally? ????
"...toxic, radioactive and hazardous waste ..." "...most poisonous chemicals on earth ..." Just where did you hear this nonsense? Fracking solution is water, sand, salt....Wells have been "fracked" since 1949.
The enviroweenies are running rampant with this type of nonsense.
