The city of Kent has become the city of KSU, and for long-term residents to be asked to pay for a new, much bigger and fancier police station when KSU's largely taxpayer-funded clientele puts the biggest burden on our services is bull. KSU should gladly fund this project.
Where are KSU and our students getting most of their buying power? As a long-term resident, I can rarely afford the new downtown fine dining and the Fifth Avenue-style shopping.
Also, the way things are going in this city and country, I may have to catch a ride on one of those big, green, mostly empty buses that are continually cruising our city and county.
I wonder if the police station will have to be bigger than our new courthouse?
