Thankful Santa visit 'a huge success'

Published:

The Suffield League wants to extend its thanks to all who made Santa's visit to the Town Hall on Dec. 8 a huge success.

To the Suffield PTA, Lions Club, Suffield United Church of Christ Men's Fellowship and the Historical Society for decorating Christmas trees, thank you. They all looked great.

Thank you for the food baskets donated by the Lions Club, Fur Traders, S.U.C.C. Men's Fellowship and Terry Ginn, and to the Madison Walker Foundation for supplying toys for each child and also for supplying Santa's helpful elf, Destiny.

We also want to thank the Suffield Fire Department for delivering Santa on time, and Dave "Pete" Einloth, who as our Santa visited each and every child.

Thank you to Doug Catalano at Knight Graphics for running off the coloring fliers, and to Shawn Bookman and staff at Suffield Elementary School for judging the coloring entries.

Thanks also to the Historical Society for supplying all those wonderful cookies and treats that everyone enjoyed. A special thank you goes out to the Field High School Choir, directed by Mrs. Kirby, who supplied seasonal songs before and during Santa's visit, and to Bob and Joyce Longbottom for their continued donations of Christmas decorations that help turn the Town Hall into a winter wonderland.

Our League motto is "Making big things happen in a small town," and with community help and support throughout the year, we are able to make those events happen.

To everyone in our Suffield family, have a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year.
