Ravenna student urges levy support

Published: April 16, 2014 4:00 AM

As a senior at Ravenna High School gearing up to graduate, I find myself looking back at my time in the Ravenna School District with much appreciation.

My only wish is for all future student Ravens to receive the same rewarding education. But, in order for that to be possible, the district is in serious need of financial help in order to make permanent improvements, purchase school buses and provide current technology that will prepare students for college

I'm so glad I can call myself a Raven and so grateful to have had such a prosperous education. My only hope is that voters will go to the polls May 6 to ensure that many more students have the same opportunities. Vote "Yes" for Ravenna students.

Huh? Jim, Help me out, I'm missing something.. $81.50 per thousand would be an increase of $12,225.00 per year or $6,112.50 per half or over $500 monthly on a $150,000 home. No? Yes?

The math $81.50 per thousand of appraised value of home in increased tax.  On an approximate 150,000 house, your taxes will increase about $125.00 per 'half' OR in monthly terms about $20 per month with 'NO PLAN' to deal with the 'NEXT' - GOTSTA HAVE dollar amount!!!

So, what's the 'PLAN' to handle this expense going forward???  More bandaids on an already profusely bleeding machette wound??
