Letter: Riddle Block tenant wants parking space back

Published:

I live at 200 W. Main St. in Riddle Block No. 9 in Ravenna. For the past seven or so years the tenants of our building have been parking at the old Paul's Do-It-Center behind our building. As of last month Neighborhood Developmental Services posted signs on all of our cars saying we could not park there. I asked them for an explanation and they said because they were going to start construction on the new movie theater. Well, here we are two months later and no construction. There is no reason why we can't park there and we are even willing to pay a fee every month.

I would like to take the time to thank NDS for driving business out of downtown by not allowing Guido's patrons to park back there anymore. Also thank you for making a 70-year-old woman walk four blocks from the nearest city lot to our building.

Do us all a favor for once.Instead of helping people that are going nowhere with their lives and destroying houses, do something to actually help the working man and give us back that lot so we don't have to walk 200 yards when it is blowing snow.

Thank you for making the tenants of 200 W. Main Street's lives even better by providing us free exercise whether it be walking four blocks, or speed-walking away from the meth head trying to get money. We greatly appreciate it.
