On behalf of The Kent Junior Chamber of Commerce, I would like to thank everyone that had a part in making this year's Grill For Good Festival such a successful event. Thanks to the community's generosity, we were able to raise $9,500 to benefit Family & Community Services, Coleman Professional Services, and the The Kent Jaycees.
Grill For Good would not be possible without a lot of help. The Kent Jaycees are grateful for the efforts of the festival committee, the time and talents of the amazing grill masters ("foodies"), and the cooperation of the police, fire, and health departments.
New to this year's event was a Wing Contest courtesy of US Foods, who donated 100 pounds of chicken wings to be grilled up. Congratulations to Fresco for being crowned the inaugural Wing Champion. Also congratulations to the overall food champion Gary Knuth. Both took home trophies designed and donated by Alan Siciliano.
A special "Thank You" is also in store for our generous sponsors that have helped make Grill For Good into what it has become -- Mike Beder, The Burbick Foundation, and The Davey Tree Expert Company.
We look forward to seeing everyone next June for the 9th annual Grill For Good.
