The Akron Bike Club will hold its Absolutely Beautiful Country Ride on July 9. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. at Copley High School, 3807 Ridgewood Road, and cyclists can participate in a 25-, 50-, 62- or 100-mill ride through Summit, Medina and Wayne counties.

Section of Meridian to close June 21

Meridian Street in Ravenna between Main Street and Maple Lane will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 21 while a crane is used to install an air conditioning unit on the roof of Chase Bank. All parking spaces in the area also will be closed off.
