The Bob Dunn "run-n-gun" days are back!

Tuesday night the Pirates put together their "A" game and sent the West Branch Warriors back to Beloit with their first loss of the season.

Southeast controlled the game from the opening tip en route to an 82-64 non-league victory. Rotating nine players for 32 minutes, the Pirates had four players hit double figures led by senior Jimmy Seaman with 20 points.

Southeast (3-0) canned nine 3-pointers, four coming midway through the second quarter. Holding a slim four-point lead at the five-minute mark of the second quarter, Seaman nailed his first trifecta and Aaron Pettigrew (15 points) followed with a pair of treys and a three-point play. Joe Divoky (17 points) then flashed the Pirate speed with two fastbreak baskets and Chris Pratt (11 points) hit a 3-pointer to give his team a 42-30 lead at intermission.

"I'm real proud of the way the guys played," said Dunn. "We beat a real good program. West Branch is always tough. We needed to stay focused on this game and not look ahead to Friday (at Crestwood), and I think we did."

West Branch (2-1) cut the deficit to eight points on two occasions in the second half but the Pirates never stopped running or gunning and for the third game in a row Southeast topped the 80-point mark.

Henry Simmons led the Warriors with 13 points while Sean Brown finished with 11.
