Associated Press CHICAGO Cleveland Indians right-hander Jason Bere threw off the mound Monday after resting his strained rotator cuff for two weeks. Bere threw for seven or eight minutes, throwing at least 30 pitches, and said he felt good. Hell work on the side again Thursday, but said theres no date yet for a rehab assignment. Its the first time off the mound in a couple of weeks, so its really just trying to get reacclimated to being on the mound, Bere said before the Indians game against the Chicago White Sox. I obviously want to be back sooner than later, he said. I didnt throw any breaking balls yet. Before I go out on a rehab assignment, Id like to have another pitch. Bere felt pain in his shoulder after pitching a simulated game March 31. He went on the 15-day disabled list April 4, one day before he was to make his debut with the Indians.
